I think one of the best parts about being Mummy is being apart of a child's creative world. A few months ago Presley had a helium balloon from Trader Joe's. The following morning she woke up to find her balloon laying on the ground. This was very upsetting to my emotional toddler.
What to do? What did I do? I did what I and all Mummy's have to do I adjusted, "Honey, it's a doggy". I gave her the string and had her start leading, Moses (our dog's name) around the house. Like any toddler her mood shifted quickly and now she has a dog balloon. I have to admit I never know if these ideas are going to work but when they do, it's very exciting (and a relief).
It's pretty funny trying to explain to people why she's telling her balloon to sit... The only problem now is I can't get rid of the balloons and we have three "dogs" we drag around the house.
