Mostly casual photos... But I don't have many photos of myself.
For as long as I can remember I have loved wearing white. There's just something about a crisp white t-shirt... I've always thought of myself as a boring dresser because I am not a fan of pattern/print clothing (on myself). I love patterns on others and have purchased pattern shirts but never seem to wear them. I even joked about having a "uniform". This was something I kept trying to change about myself.
I started to be more accepting of this idea (of having a uniform) a few years ago. I remember reading Carolina Herrera has a white shirt in every collection she designs. Reading this made me feel that at least I was in good company. And wow, she can rock it with an evening gown!..
Then I saw this blog post. Click on Vera's picture to read it.

It's only been recently that I've felt very comfortable with my style (as simple as it is). I always felt you need a few staples in your closet (like every designer, or stylist will tell you) for me it's been a few white shirts, dark denim a great pair of heels, leggings and a dress jacket. With these you can add accessories to mix it up from simple day to evening out.
The mistake I made a lot was going shopping for something new and not knowing what. This is when I'd come home with what was in fashion (on just for sale) not what was good for me. Then it would just hang in my closet. Now when I go shopping I have a pretty clear idea of what I am looking for. I know what looks good on me and I stay away from what doesn't (those beautiful long flowing dresses- only for you tall ladies).
After reading Vera's article I'm glad I'm not the only one in love with leggings (black only for me). But I may have to mix up the top, because you can only wear a white tshirt and black leggings so many ways!
