As you all may know my lil' Teddy Bear is turning three this week. I am really slacking this year, I didn't get around to sending out invitations to her party, yikes. We are only inviting her 3 cousins and a couple of friends. So it's a pretty small party, I hope they all forgive me for the in-formalness. Life is just too crazy this year.
I usually love the whole process of throwing a party, creating the invitation, building a theme and putting it all together. But three is sort of a funny age, she understands it's her birthday but I'm pretty sure will not remember it. So I think I'm going to save all the Princess type party for next year (or the year after) when she is older and may not want to invite boys "yuck" (what age dos that whole thing start?).
Her party is going to be at Build-a-bear, not very creative I know. But we haven't let her go there yet and I think this is a great reason, it's a special gift. Anyway because I'm lacking in creative party idea I decided I had to do something fun and different. Above is the gift bags I made for her party.
I had imagined them more intricate but once I made the first one (my prototype) it was so cute I thought why bother making them too difficult. I may still add some embellishments but time will tell. So all it took to make them were some old sheets, here's how. I got two sheet sets and cut the fabric into 9x9 inch squares. I stitched the coordinating fabrics together. Use the edging of the sheets so I didn't have to sew a hem. It took me less the 30 minutes to make all four.
As the week progresses I will show the finished product, I still need to add something to the the bag shut. I'm excited they were so easy because Presley has several toys with lots of pieces (magna-tiles) and nothing to put them in.
